Fitness

I’ve always been active. Basketball and kickboxing growing up, then years of running and cardio because that’s what we were told was “healthy”. Cardio was king. Weights were for guys.

For a long time, I ran 4–5 times a week. Sometimes 10km a day. I thought that was peak fitness. But after a lifestyle reset in 2024, I realised I needed something more sustainable. Especially in my 40s.

In 2025, I started proper strength training. That’s when everything shifted. Lifting weights 4–5 times per week has had the biggest impact on my body composition, confidence and mental clarity. It’s changed how I train, how I feel, and how I approach midlife fitness. Cardio still exists (mostly walking these days), but building muscle and getting stronger is now my main focus.

This page documents my strength training journey as a woman in her 40s — what’s working, what isn’t, how I structure my workouts, and how I’m trying to build sustainable fitness habits that actually stick.

No extremes. No quick fixes. Just getting stronger and staying consistent.
